Kamala - Phuket - Thailand

Kamala is a quiet and tranquil area on Phuket's west coast, north of Kalim beach and the lively Patong. It's an exclusive area with its own area known as 'Millionaire's Mile' named because of the luxury homes nestled in the hillsides overlooking the breathtaking Andaman Sea as do many of our Kamala villas. This area is less popular with tourists and those that do visit like it this way.

Kamala Beach

Kamala is a nice quiet escape from the frenetic pace of its busy neighbor Patong. This relatively small beach is fairly developed but sees little of the 'day traffic' that Patong experiences, and is merely a 10 minute tuk tuk ride from the main action further south. A nice beach with clear water in high season and a decent amount of dining and shopping options

This is a quieter area, but there is still lots of things to do in Kamala. The area has a large theme park, shopping street and local market, diving school and even a lawn bowling club.

Phuket FantaSea
This is a huge cultural theme park - it features a nightly show demonstrating Thai mythology with aerial ballet, pyrotechnics, song and dance. Another attraction is the Songbird Luminarie, where you are serenaded by magical songbirds of mythical legends.

It is possible to snorkel at the northern end of the beach during calmer conditions.

Surfing
In the months of May to October this beach can experience swell and you can hire a board at the north end of the beach.

Wat Baan Kamala Temple
The local Buddhist temple, very peaceful and tranquil.
