Villa Chanda

Villa Chanda is the largest house on the Horizon estate at 650 square metres, renovated in 2025, and built around a straightforward idea: give the children a proper room of their own. Three of the four bedrooms are kings with en-suites. The fourth is a purpose-built children's room with four queen-size bunk beds, blue-painted walls, a staircase of built-in drawer-steps between the two bunk units, bean bags and a television. Children tend to disappear into it, which is precisely the point.

There is also a self-contained studio bedroom with its own en-suite, useful for a nanny or a grandparent travelling with the family. The villa sleeps ten.

The ground floor runs as one long sequence. A living room with a travertine feature wall and bifold doors that open the full width onto the terrace; a kitchen with a stone island and rattan bar stools; and a separate formal dining room with a chandelier and tall gold-framed mirrors. The covered outdoor dining terrace folds open into the kitchen, so on a still evening the two become a single space and the group spills between them.

The private pool looks north over the treeline to Koh Fan and the sea, with loungers along the deck. Five en-suite bathrooms and a guest toilet mean a full house never queues.

For catering, the villa's Thai chef prepares breakfast at 500 THB per person per day, or takes on the full day at 2,500 THB with guests covering ingredients — an arrangement that makes particular sense with children in the party, since it removes the daily negotiation about where to eat.

Chanda sits within a gated, government-licensed estate with 24-hour security and its own management and maintenance team on site seven days a week. The clubhouse and its 24-hour gym are included, as is the tennis court by the entrance, and a complimentary shuttle runs twice daily down to Choeng Mon beach — shallow, calm and one of the safest beaches on Samui for small children, with restaurants and a morning market behind it. There is parking on site, and the airport is a short drive away.
