Why rent a villa at Choeng Mon beach?
You may have already decided you want to rent a villa in Koh Samui, but have yet to decide which part of the island would be the best base for you. This is the first in a series of post about each area of Koh Samui, why we like it and what to see and do there.
This time we are focusing on the Choeng Mon beach area.
Beach
Choeng Mon is only 15 minutes north of busy Chaweng, but it’s white sandy beaches offer a lovely hideaway for those seeking a family friendly and quieter atmosphere. It’s also very close to the village so just a short walk for anything you didn’t bring to the beach. There are a number of bars and restaurants along the beach.
What to Do
Shop
Take a trip to the ‘walking street’ market on a Wednesday evening.
Kayak
Hop in a Kayak to reach the beautiful Tongsai Bay.
Swim
The lovely clear waters of this shallow bay are fabulous for swimming.
Eats & Drinks
The quiet atmosphere of this area lends itself to chilling on the beach with a cocktail and watching the spectacular sunset. Or dine under the stars with your feet in the sand and hear the water just a few feet away. For high end dining try the Sala Samui restaurant. Choeng Mon is just a very short drive to Fisherman’s village
