Akuvara is an absolute beachfront villa right next to Lipa Noi Beach on the west coast of Koh Samui.
Linked by beautifully kept tropical gardens are two well-appointed garden-view guest bedrooms, a self-contained upper-floor guest suite and a large master bedroom just a couple of steps from the 20-metre pool, the sala and the beach. At the other end of the pool is an outdoor dining deck, and inside is a choice of three lounge areas, a modern kitchen and an indoor dining pavilion.
Although not as large or grand as other luxury private villas on Samui, Akuvara, with its modern glass architecture, is ideal for gatherings of friends and families of all ages.
Akuvara’s chef is on hand throughout your stay to prepare breakfast, lunch and dinner.
The villa has comfortable and attractive soft furnishings throughout. The beauty of the villa lies in keeping things simple with clean open spaces creating a contemporary style which blend in perfect harmony with the modern as well natural materials used in the construction.
Located behind the beachfront swimming pool is expansive area of patio furnished with cushioned sun loungers and umbrellas ideal for relaxing in the sun and furniture for al fresco dining. To one side of the pool is a cool decked shady sala for those to escape the heat and still have the views on two double daybeds. A gate one side of the swimming pool leads on to the beach.
Beyond the pool on either side separated by a central pathway is a master bedroom suite and the main living pavilion. The master bedroom opens up to poolside and features an outdoor bathtub for 2 offering a romantic twist and uninterrupted sea views privacy is offered with wooden doors that can be closed.
The living pavilion accommodates a lounge at the front end opening on to the pool deck and a den towards the rear. In addition there is a modern fully equipped kitchen and stairs leading up to a mezzanine viewing area (another chill out place) furnished with 2 double daybeds and glass doors opening up to a balcony offering amazing views of the pool, the beach, the ocean and the islands beyond.
Located behind the living pavilion is a formal dining area with sliding doors to a terrace and garden and separated by a covered walkway on the other side is a double bedroom en suite which also with sliding doors to a terrace and garden.
Set in the gardens beyond is a further double bedroom en suite and a shady sala nearby.
A master suite is located in the upper floor of the 2 storey building at the back of the building which also includes a separate kitchen area with breakfast bar and a wide balcony with views overlooking the sea.
There are several outdoor activities to indulge in such as lazing on the Sala daybeds, sunbathing on the loungers found by the poolside, kayaking, ocean and pool swimming and dining on the terrace while enjoying the breathtaking views.
For indoor activities, the comfortable sofas in the lounge that connects to the terrace pool and the mezzanine viewing area on day beds ideal for sipping cocktails is a smart way to spend your evenings.
The tide does recede over 50 meters during the summer months providing pools of water for children to paddle as well as enabling beach games to take place on the large expanse of sand.
All the bedrooms are equipped with everything needed to enjoy a beach-side break though they are far from being extravagant. With 2 master suites in the villa it is perfect for friends sharing on the other hand reduced occupancy rates provide a romantic retreat for couples as well.
Akuvara villa is a safe environment for kids, where you can relax in the knowledge that can play happily and you don’t have to worry about disturbing other guests.
Located just over 1 kilometer down the beach there is a ferry pier which can be seen in the distance with Ferries arrving from the mainland throughout the day.
The friendly staff are terrific with children (ask the villa manager about baby-sitting and nanny services). There is plenty to keep children so busy all day that they’ll collapse into their beds every night and sleep soundly until it’s time to start all over again the next morning. Akuvara has cots, high chairs, baby bathing facilities and children’s crockery and cutlery. Other equipment can be hired locally.
