What an Amazing Place

Our first time to Koh Samui - and we had booked the Baan Kohia villa after lots and lots of research. But the day before we got to Koh Samui, we got a call from the management company telling us we have been upgraded -- to this super amazing place that was right on the beach.

this is at the end of Bophut beach - so it's very quiet because there are not that many people walking around. But the good thing is that it is pretty close to a whole bunch of other hotels and restaurants via a quick walk on the beach.

the fisherman's village is less than 15-20 minute walk on the beach - though the beeach has coarse sand makign it a bit hard to walk. if you walk on the inside streets, its a little over a kilometer - so its an easy walk.

we loved the villa - the people taking care of the place (Toey, Khaek, Nikki) were absolutely brilliant.

we got the chef one day - it was amazing food and enough qty to last couple more meals. lots of restaurants out on the main street (about 5 minutes away) plus conveneince store to buy food and beer.

highly recommend this place.

Fantastci Villa

This Villa is located at the West end of Bophut beach. As it is at the end of the beach nobody goes there and it is like having your own private beach. 

The staff in the vila really looked after our family too. We loved all the fresh food and they really made us feel relaxed and special. They arranged a lovely babysitter to help with our young daughter.

The villas on the street at Dhevatara Residence are almost the same as each other but some seem to have been photographed better than others. This Villa is actually the biggest and we thought it was the best because 3 of the bedrooms are elevated and have fantastic views across the bay.

The Villa also has a backup power generator so whenever the island had its frequent brown-outs we were unaffected. Usually this is not an issue - but during our stay it turned out to be fantastically useful and we hadn't realised until we met other people on the island who had been without power and therefore water for hours at a time and even many local restaurants and stores were out of power - they had had a miserable time!

This really is a great villa to stay at - you are pretty much guaranteed to have a great vacation.

Cancellation and Amendments to Reservation

If it becomes necessary to cancel the whole or any part of the booking by the Guests, IPSL must be notified in writing in advance (email is acceptable). The cancellation will take effect from the date of the written confirmation is received by IPSL.

The following cancellation charges will be applied depending on when the notification of the cancellation is received in writing by IPSL and the period of stay in the Villa by the Guests:

  • 20% of the total rental amount will be forfeited if the cancellation is made 60 days or more before the arrival date.
  • 50% of the total rental amount will be forfeited if the cancellation is made between 30 and 60 days before the arrival date.
  • 100% of the total rental amount will be forfeited if the cancellation is made 30 days or less before the arrival date.
  • A full or partial refund is subject to the discretion of IPSL and solely applicable in the event that IPSL secures another reservation covering partially or fully the initial cancelled reservation.

Christmas and New Year Periods:

  • For any cancellation after the deposit and/or balance payment, all payments are forfeited and a full or partial refund is solely applicable in the event that IPSL secures another reservation covering partially or fully the initial and cancelled reservation

Relaxed Cancellation Policy during COVID-19 Period

We understand that flexibility is required given the impact Coronavirus has on travel. In the event where your trip is disrupted due to COVID-19-related flight cancellations or travel restrictions, the below terms and conditions apply:

In the event your trip is disrupted, we will supply you with the necessary paperwork to file a claim with your travel insurance. If you are not covered by travel insurance, please refer to the policies on our managed villas below.

  • Cancellations made more than thirty (30) days before the date of arrival are eligible for a credit note for up to twelve (12) months from your original arrival date OR a cash refund of eighty percent (80%).
  • Cancellations made within thirty (30) days of the arrival date will be converted into a credit note for up to twelve (12) months from your original arrival date – no cash refund.
  • For peak season bookings: If you cancel anytime due to a COVID-related event, you will be provided with twelve (12) months credit from the original arrival date – no cash refund.

We will refund your booking or provide a credit note based on the following conditions:

  • Your country of residence issues a travel ban or a warning of ‘Do not travel’ (or the equivalent) to the destination booked.
  • Your flight is cancelled and alternatives are not available.
  • There is a government-enforced quarantine upon your return from one of our destinations.

Terms and Conditions:

  • Proof will be required before confirming eligibility to this clause.
  • Cash refund will be minus any fees that may be incurred for international remittance if requested.
  • Credit Note allows you to rebook the same villa during the same rate period (season) within twelve (12) months of your original arrival date. You may confirm your travel dates at a later point in time, as long as the stay is completed within twelve (12) months of the original check-in date.
  • The minimum length of stay shall also follow the period of the new dates;
  • Policy for new bookings apply for selected managed villas;
  • Extension of credit note validity may be requested subject to approval

Bophut is located in the north of Koh Samui between Big Buddha and Maenam and it is considered a popular place to stay near to or visit and a good compromise between the hustle and bustle of the larger east and south east coast towns and the  more tranquil setting of the south and west coasts.

Whereas Fisherman's Village in Bophut has been famous for its Friday night walking street market, since Covid days the village now supports a night market every night. This is not held in the village main street as previously but starts in a side street towards the west end of the village and through to the Koh Samui ring road. Here you will find about 1/2 mile of the street lined on both sides with vendors selling watches, clothing, handbags, jewelry and much more with live music entertainment and a cocktail area in the middle and a host of street food stalls towards the end. A welcome change has seen the road into the village blocked for vehicles from 6pm each evening so that walkers can enjoy the shops and restaurants safely without having to stop and move to the side.
